'Diagnostics in healthcare, 2035 … where will we be, and how do we get there?'
The Diagnostics North East Annual Conference 2025 was our biggest and most vibrant yet, bringing together 250 delegates from across the NHS, academia, and industry at The Catalyst in Newcastle. The day was filled with energy, collaboration, and innovation — all focused on one big question: “Where will diagnostics be in 2035, and how will we get there?”
The conference opened with a showcase of the North East, celebrating the region’s world-class life sciences infrastructure and pioneering diagnostics companies. Delegates explored cutting-edge technologies in the Innovation Zone, from robotics and drones to pathology demos and virtual reality headsets.
Keynotes from Sir John Burn, Dame Professor Sue Hill, and Dr Angela Douglas MBE, alongside sessions from Roche, Solventum, and Promptly Health, sparked lively discussion about the future of diagnostics and the partnerships driving progress.
The buzz throughout the day reflected a shared vision — that the North East is leading the way in shaping the future of healthcare innovation.
