Our aim

To provide independent, evidence-based assessments of health technologies, supporting innovation, supporting research and building capability to improve patient outcomes and deliver value to the UK health system.

Who we are

The Newcastle Hospitals Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Group is part of the Medical Physics Directory at Newcastle Hospitals. We work closely with colleagues at Newcastle University, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Teesside University to provide External Assessment Group services to NICE (independent assessment of Health Technologies to support national guidance development).

Evidence requirements

We can support companies at any stage. Companies interested in putting their technologies forward for NICE guidance development will need different levels of evidence depending on life cycle stage, but we can signpost companies to helpful resources.
